PPM denies voting out Faris, Nadira, Zaid

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has denied the party dismissed Dhiggaru Constituency MP Faris Maumoon, along with members Aminath Nadira and Zaidul Ameen.

While PPM had denied the dismissal, the party's Ethics Committee had voted to boot the said three, unanimously among the committee members, within the past week.

Nadira and Zaid were voted out for criticizing the current government and Faris Maumoon for his decision to vote against the three line whip issued by PPM over a controversial amendment that allows lease of island in the absence of a bidding process.

PPM had since released a statement that claims there have been no complaints regarding these members in an official form, for them to consider voting the three members out of the party.

Even though there are apparent disagreements within PPM, President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has asked to resolve these differences and divisions through discussions.
