Ambassador of Germany to the Maldives Dr. Jürgen Morhard has held discussions with President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom on bringing in German investors to the country. The discussions were held in the farewell meeting held between the two individuals held in President's Office yesterday.
During the call, the President expressed his gratitude to the contributions made by Germany especially in the tourism sector and in infrastructure development in Maldives. The President also highlighted Germany’s ongoing assistance in the environment sector and the contributions in development.
Both President and the Ambassador noted that this year marked the golden jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Germany, and exchanged views in further enhancing the ties. The two had also discussed on the importance of attracting more German investors to the Maldives, particularly in the tourism sector.
President Yameen briefed the Ambassador about the policies and measures that the Government is taking to create a more investor-friendly environment in the Maldives.
