Police opens for recruitment

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has begun a recruitment drive.

A notice released by the Service said interested applicants can apply for the position of Police Constable on or before the 13th of this month.

Successful applicants will receive a monthly salary of MVR 4650 and will receive a service allowance of MVR 3500, 40 percent of basic salary as non-practicing allowance and other allowances after a three month probationary period. The notice also said that successful applicants will be given salary increments based on educational standards.

Basic criteria:
- Minimum C pass in three subjects in GCE O-Level, Secondary School Certificate examination or minimum C pass in two subjects in GCE O-Level, Secondary School Certificate examination and a level three or higher course in accredited by Maldives Qualifications Authority
- Between 18 to 25 years of age
- Male applicants will have to be 5 feet 3 inches, while female applicants have to be 5 feet
- Applicants will be rejected if they have a criminal record within the past five years and a member of a political party
- No record of drugs or drug rehabilitation treatment in the past five years
- Physically able to compete Police training

Interested applicants can submit their completed application forms and additional documentation on or before the 31st of this month to Shaheed Hussain Adam Building. Completed application forms will be accepted from 2pm to 4pm on official days.
