Avas Online along with other selected sponsors signed the agreement with Public Service Media for the second season of Maldivian Idol. Avas Online was the media partner for season one as well.
Manager Sales Aminath Mohamed signed the agreement for Avas, Deputy Director Aminath Shaayan Shahid signed the agreement of behalf of PSM.
Speaking after signing the agreement, Aminath said Avas was interested in the show as it promoted young, new locals and that Avas wanted to be a part of that. She said it was an honor for the whole Avas team to participate in this process, adding that Avas will work with PSM to promote this show.
"We will include more coverage to increase support for the season two among public," she said.
The bid for media partners were announced on the 22nd of last month, followed by an information session for all media on the 27th. Avas and Mihaaru were the attendees for the session.
The proposals were opened on the 30th, as agreed by the participants in the meeting. Avas, Sun and Mihaaru had submitted proposals .
Avas proposed MVR 139,993 for media coverage of the five months of the show, while Sun proposed MVR 901,250. Mihaaru had proposed MVR 5.6 million.
Proposed price accounted for 60 percent of the marks, with 20 percent for experience and 20 percent for capability. Avas scored the highest in all three aspects.
In addition to media partners, agreements were exchanged for catering partners, accommodation partner and audit partner. Seahouse, catering partner for the first season, was selected as catering partner. CEO Ismail Faseeh signed the agreement on behalf of Seahouse.
Champa Central Hotel is the accommodation partner for season two. The agreement was signed by General Manager Thaha Rasheed. Crowe Howarth Maldives was selected as the Audit firm. Managing Partner Hassan Mohamed signed the agreement on behalf of the firm. The firm was also the audit firm for the previous season. The firm is now rebranded to an international firm.
Speaking in the ceremony, Shayan said the four partners will work with PSM to ensure the second season is a more quality one. She noted that more companies had expressed interest to work on the second season adding there was more competition this time around.
"This time many parties had expressed interest early on, we had to consider many things in evaluating, as we had more competition, more parties. We thoroughly analyzed all parties," Shaayan said.
All partners pledged to ensure that the show will be a successful one and promote the new talent.
Dhiraaug is the title sponsor, while Allied Insurance, STO and Lotus are the main sponsors. Maldivian is the travel partner. XL energy is the beverage partner. Bank of Maldives is the official banking partner.
