Leader of the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives's (PPM) Parliamentary group, Ahmed Nihan has said that the PPM Parliament group holds a world class track record.
Nihan said this while speaking at the PPM rally held Friday. Nihan stated that the PPM's Parliamentary group will uphold this government and will work with President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in the development of Maldives.
He labelled the lawmakers representing PPM and coalition partner Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) as "heroes."
Nihan also said that the government has spent MVR 65 billion to establish essential services for the public within the past three years, and that this is almost 100,000 per head for the population of Maldives.
He stated that the Parliament members stand behind President Yameen because he works to bring much needed development to the public such as clean drinking water and proper sewage systems.
"This party has Parliament members with a world class track record, and will stand steadfast in upholding this government and President Yameen," Nihan said.
Nihan also said that President Yameen is the first Maldivian President to demonstrate traits that should be visible in the leader of any Islamic Nation.
