The first Maldivian international TV channel, 'Maldives TV' has been launched on Monday in the UK. The brand was launched by the Maldivian ambassador to England and the European Union, Ahmed Shiaan.
While the channel has been launched during the World Travel Market, the channel is officially going to premiere in December.
Public Service Media (PSM), the parent company of the channel, said the channel will exhibit the beauty of Maldives to foreign nations and further advertise the Maldives. As such, the channel will advertise Maldivian resorts and guest houses as well as tour operators and agents.
All the content in the channel will be brought in English.
