Defense Minister Adam Shareef Umar Saturday stated that everyone loyal to the country and not working for personal gain are currently with President Abdulla Yameen Abdulla Gayoom.
The Minister said this while speaking at the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) rally held in R. Dhuvaafaru Saturday night. He said that the biggest guarantee for President Yameen getting reelected in the 2018 elections is the support of the people.
The Minister also said that he would make sure that R. Atoll has a special part in the 2018 elections, and that it is important to gain the majority in the Local Council Elections for PPM.
"We can only bring the changes to the country that President Yameen wants by working diligently towards 2018. I can ensure 80% of the vote from R. Atoll," the Minister stated.
The Minister also said that this government is not only building bridges, but also working to develop the entire country.
At the rally last night, 715 new membership forms were submitted by N. Atoll and R. Atoll.
People from around the region had traveled to Dhuvaafaru to attend this rally.
