Government on Monday signed an agreement with a top Uzbekistan firm to develop a sports complex in the reclaimed suburb Hulhumale in project worth USD40 billion.
Uzbekistan's AGT Consultancy Finance has been awarded the project under contractor finance to build the sports complex in the recently reclaimed second phase of Hulhumale which has allocated a five hectare area as a special district for sports facilities.
Government would be required to repay the funds in 10 years with a fixed four percent interest rate.
- Six international standard badminton courts
- One basketball court
- One handball court
- Two volleyball courts
- Two futsal courts
- 10 table tennis tables
- 10 billiard tables
- One multi-purpose basketball/netball court
The complex would also include an accommodation block to house trainers and players and gym facilities. A hotel project has also been included to fund the maintenance of the complex.
