Govt awards flats to 20 hospital staff

The government has given flats to 10 doctors and 10 nurses of the main state hospital, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital. The flats were given out at the ceremony held Sunday to inaugurate the new upgrades made to the hospital.

The flats were given out as part of the award package given to the 20 employees who received a lifetime achievement award for providing many years of service to the hospital. Senior members of the hospital doctor staff and nurse staff received these awards.

President Abdulla Yameen also said that efforts will be made to ensure that flats are more easily available to those working in the health sector under government housing programs.

He said that a large majority of the 2,500 flats being built for government employees will be dedicated to workers of the health field.

IGMH said that the winners of the flats were chosen among those who received the highest marks under hospital policy.
