Two Bangladeshis injured in assault

Two Bangladesh men have been injured after they were allegedly assaulted with a sharp object in Alif Dhaal Atoll Dhangethi island early Saturday.

Police said the incident was reported around 5.30am Saturday. Though there have not been any arrests thus far, police said the investigation was underway.

Dhangethi health centre said the two victims had suffered varying degrees of injuries but were recovering.

"One had sustained injuries to the face and shoulders. The other victim had injuries to the face and arms. There were signs that were also hit with a blunt object," health centre in charge Aishath Hussain told Avas.

The two victims are reportedly between the age of 30 and 50.
