Maldives Police have destroyed 81 motorcycles and 210 bicycles which had been towed for violation of the law.
Police said the vehicles were dismantled and destroyed on Monday.
Owners have a time period of 60 days to request the release of their vehicles before they are destroyed.
Although many vehicles are towed in the capital Male' City, police very rarely destroy any vehicles, instead opting to give chances to the public to reclaim their vehicles.
