The Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Center) expects heavy rains to continue on Thursday and over the weekend.
MET expects the rain to be heaviest, in central and northern Maldives, but said the weather is expected to clear by Saturday.
The MET Center also predicts that wind speeds will be at around 18 Miles per hour with clouds traveling at 40 miles per hour along with rough seas.
