Maldives FA shortlists three for technical director post

Three Europeans have been shortlisted for the position of Technical Director for the Football Association of Maldives (FAM).

FAM President Bassam Adil Jaleel stated that two experts from Portugal and another from Turkey were in the shortlist for the position.

Bassam noted that all three were comfortably familiar with Asian football, stating that the governing body of world football, FIFA had given its recommendation to all three names.

Bassam informed that the position will be filled after deliberation within the Technical Committee formed to manage the Maldivian National Football Team.

After the committee reaches a conclusive answer on one of the candidates, negotiations will proceed, and the new Technical Director will be unveiled at a media event, according to Bassam.

The Technical Director position is temporarily being filled by retired footballer Adam Shareef (Dunga), who also works in managing the FAM Addu Bureau.
