Maldives' TC Sports Club recorded a dream start to the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup which began in Bangladesh on Saturday after defeating the Bangladesh league champions, Dhaka Abahani in a 0-1 thriller.
Dhaka Abahani is coached by the former manager of the Maldives National Football Team, Drago Mamic.
TC Sports Club scored the only goal of the match in the 16th minute, at the match played in the M.A. Aziz Stadium of Chittagong.
The goal scorer for TC Sports Club was Ibrahim Mahudhee Hussein (Ibbe), who had showed excellent form last season for the S.Feydhoo Team.
Dhaka Abahani have been five time league champions of Bangladesh.
The first match of the tournament played between FC Pocheon of South Korea and FC Alga of Kyrgyzstan was won by FC Pocheon 2-0.
