Government on Sunday opened the project to develop housing units in the second phase of the reclaimed suburb Hulhumale for private firms.
The government is looking to develop 15,000 housing units in the second phase, dubbed as the youth city.
Hulhumale Development Corporation (HDC) spokesperson said private firms, both local and international under contractor finance would have the opportunity to bid for the housing units.
HDC however has not yet decided a cap on the units to each individual firm and not set a deadline to close the window, spokesperson added.
