Construction begins on 6th segment of capital's main road

Work has finished on the fifth segment of construction on Majeedhee Magu, the central road which runs across Male City and construction has started on the sixth segment of the road.

The area of Majeedhee Magu now under construction is known to be the most congested area of the road, with the Housing Ministry estimating that this segment will be completed within 21 days. The traffic flow of the area will likely change due to the construction.

Housing Minister Dr Mohamed Muizzu had said earlier that construction would soon start on other major roads of Male as well. The Housing Ministry has announced that the project started to develop the roads of the capital would be completed by next September.

Modern junction cables will be placed along the redeveloped roads, with redesigns to the pavements to make them more friendly towards those with special needs. The stones currently in place will be removed and replaced with more level stones.
