Rajshahi's Metropolitan Magistrate court, on Tuesday, passed the order to exhume the body of Maldives student and model Raudha Athif for a second autopsy in a bid to answer lingering question marks over her death.
According to Bangladesh media sources, the petition to exhume Raudha's body for a second autopsy was filed by Bangladesh's Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Court passed the order under the condition for the autopsy to be done in the presence of a magistrate. CID has stated that the body will re-examined by a “neutral medical board.
Raudha was found dead at her dormitory on March 29. Her parents maintain the suspicion that their daughter was murdered.
Meanwhile, Maldives police last week had all but ruled out foul play in the young model's death.
Bangladeshi police had also earlier said key facts surrounding Raudha's death had been uncovered from her phone which fuelled rumours saying that she had a spat with her boyfriend the night before her death.
