Expat confesses to Ihavandhoo murder

Bangladeshi expat, who was arrested as a suspect in the murder of a 54-year-old local man in an ice plant at Ihavandhoo in Haa Alif Atoll has confessed to the crime.

Police made a statement on Sunday, revealing that 27-year-old expat Shomun Mia had confessed to the murder, adding that they have retrieved the murder weapon and the clothes he wore during the crime.

A total of five suspects, all expatriates, were arrested in relation to the murder.

Police stated that the case is a serious ongoing investigation and pledged to capture the culprits and bring justice.
