Pro-govt. party alleges opposition to seek aid of mercs

Government run Progressive Party of Maldives' Secretary General and Nilandhoo constituency lawmaker Abdullah Khaleel has alleged the opposing coalition of seeking the aid of mercenaries to topple the government.

Khaleel's tweets on Saturday night said the self exiled former president of Maldives Mohamed Nasheed has been pleading several lawmakers to join the opposition and oust the head of state - however due to the apparent increase of support to incumbent president Abdullah Yameen the opposition is rumored to hire mercenaries to siege the government.

While Khaleel has claimed the increasing support to president Yameen, several parliamentarians had cancelled their membership rights from the government run party, allying themselves with the opposition.

A case of severity as some of the PPM leaving members are currently disqualified as lawmakers to the constituents according to the state - for which Supreme Court's verdict is still pending.

Currently the parliament is on recess however the final days before going into break, opposition had constantly protested inside the chambers - condemning the speaker of the parliament Abdullah Maseeh.
