Lawyers worry over contradictions in Faris Maumoon's case

Faris Maumoon's lawyer Maumoon Hameed shows concern over surfacing contradictions from High Court regarding the defendant's case.

According to the Dhiggaru constituency lawmaker's advocate the information delivered by High Court is laced with irregularities, resulting in further questioning about the trial's progress and procedure.

Hameed has stated that according to chief judge of High Court, Abdullah Didi affirms that his section had not received Faris Maumoon's appeal case.

However, lawmaker's advocate team had received notice stating that the MP's case had been dismissed by chief judge's section, according to the High Court. The reporting section of High Court had further specified that details about Faris Maumoon's case will be disclosed through the chief judge's section.

Hameed showed grave concern over these contradictions from High Court, stating that he is uncertain regarding the proceedings of his client's case.

Apart from chief judge Abdullah Didi, the Dhiggaru constituency lawmaker's appeal case is handled by judges Abdul-Rauf Ibrahim and Ali Sameer.

Maumoon Hameed has requested to pace up the verdict over the case. The trial has concluded all of its hearings, and a previous date was table for verdict delivery. However, the tabled sentencing was cancelled and it has not been re-scheduled afterwards.
