In a letter sent to Commissioner of Prisons, Home Minister stated that he had ordered all relevant authorities to haste for the arrangements required for the transportation of Qasim Ibrahim following Criminal Court verdict which sentenced him to jail for 3 years. Minister Azleen has stressed the relevant authorities to arrange possibilities for Qasim Ibrahim's treatment abroad.
The consulting doctor of ailing Jumhooree Party leader had strongly suggested for a quick travel abroad to seek required medical attention and tests - procedures which cannot be executed in any Maldivian medical institute - emphasizing that any hindrance could cost the Villa Chairman, his life.
