India-Maldives bond stronger than ever; says Ambassador

The Maldivian Ambassador at India, Ahmed Mohamed (Andey) assures the bilateral relationship between Maldives and India is comparatively stronger than the bond between China and Maldives.

Speaking to "The Statesman" the Ambassador noted that coercing or pressurizing the Maldivian government and its entities towards amending conduct will not produce adequate results, however counseling or guidance towards maneuvering for creating responsible government offices in Maldives is the best suited approach.

The Ambassador at Indian based Mission stressed over the significance the local government attends towards India's policies while he noted the solidifying bond between the eastern superpower China and Maldives - through various investments and aid for several urbanization projects.

The dispute fueled Indian Ocean issue was commented on as well by Mohamed, as he stated that Maldives will favor India's policies regarding the controversial dispute. Despite Maldives teaming with India regarding the territorial waters clash, the Ambassador was keen to notify that Maldives is always open to throw an olive branch towards any country willing to extend their hand at friendship or to strengthen their bond with the nation.
