Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has initiated an aerial rescue effort to search and locate the missing Noonu Atoll Maduvvari resident; 91 year old Ibrahim, Gulshan-Vaadhee.
He was last reported to have headed to the sea.
According to MNDF's media officer, Coast Guard divers and vessels are active at the site where Ibrahim was last reported to have sighted. In addition to this, MNDF helicopter "Kurangi" has been in operation since 08:00hrs of Monday morning.
The elderly citizen of Maduvvari was seen by several islanders, sitting by the beach before he went missing. Hours later, the elderly citizen's sarong was discovered from a 12 feet distance at the west side shoreline. His family reported him missing to the island council around 09:30hrs on Sunday morning.
Several islanders of Maduvvari took efforts in searching for the missing elderly on Sunday with as much as six vessels operating around the area Ibrahim was last sighted.
