Lasting peace to Palestine; urges Maldives

Maldives has called out to international humanitarian organizations to work towards deriving permanent peace to the people of Palestine.

Speaking at the 29th assembly of UN Human Rights Council's 36th session at Geneva, Switzerland, Dr. Hala Hameed said a sovereign state for Palestinians must be established for their peaceful prosperity.

In her speech, Dr. Hameed had strongly condemned the continuous atrocities against Palestinians by the Israeli state. She also heavily criticized the constant oppression by Israeli state on Palestinian civilians over their right to land-ownership, prosperity and development.

She also noted that while Israel had continuously violated international human rights regulations and peace accords, with UN's Security Council passing several bills against Israel's undeterred xenophobia against Palestine, the global community had failed in intervening.
