Qualifying chances high for team; National team coach

Maldivian national team's head coach Darren Stuart says the upcoming Oman match will be the final window to advance into Asian Cup finalists.

While the second leg game against Oman is slated for October 10 at home, Maldivian team's away game at Oman's homeland, faced defeat with a score of 0-5.

According to the national team's coach Stuart many were skeptical about the chances of Maldivian football team landing in the Asian Cup qualifiers spot. However he was hopeful about advancing to the next round as the team landed a qualifier spot.

"Since the beginning, I have been telling that as long as we had one single window of opportunity to advance, we will not give up," Stuart said.

Maldivian national football team faced loss in two of the three qualifying round games played so far. First game ended with Palestine nabbing a 3-0 win at home field of local football team while the team emerged victorious against Bhutan during the second game with a score of 2-0.

Palestine holds top spot in group stage by a three game win, accumulating 9 points while Oman falls to second spot with 6 points.
