Suspect arrested in slain Half-Way House victim

Authorities have arrested a suspect linked to the murder of Half-Way House patient, Haaris Abdul Gafoor, 25 on Friday night.

Reports confirm that Gafoor died shortly after he was rushed into Hulhumale' Hospital following the stabbing incident. He was stabbed multiple times on his body.

Police confirms they made arrest of a 23 year old individual who was directly involved in the assault on Gafoor - that lead to his demise.

Gafoor who was a patient at the Half-Way House, Hulhumale' resident drug rehabilitation center was getting treatment for narcotic addiction. He was attacked moments after he stepped out from the center's premises.

Sources claim Gafoor was killed in an act of exacting revenge for the death of another victim who was stabbed a week prior near Items retail shop in Maafannu.

On Friday night, G-Six Restaurant at Male' - in front of parliament house - was another scene of a violence breaking out. A victim inside the restaurant received stabs on three places on his back, however he was immediately transferred to nearby ADK Hospital and provided medical treatment.

The victim's family confirmed his condition had stabilized gradually.
