EU resolution against Maldivian state heads

Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) initiated convention at European Union against the Maldivian state heads calling an all out sanction on government leaders and condemning their injustice has been tabled for deliberation.

MDP initiated resolution has cited the government initiated act of narrowing freedom of expression, journalism and rallying in Maldives. Restraining the freedom of the public as well as the stripping of civil rights and liberties from Maldivian citizens while bringing biased changes to the Constitution granting power and influence to government and state heads.

The EU tabled resolution also read the dismissal of several advocates and breaching the judiciary from transparent conduct.

Furthermore the convention had also highlighted the harrowing growth of radical Islamist propaganda and individuals as well as the abduction of Maldives Independent journalist Ahmed Rilwan and the murder of social media activist and blogger Yameen Rasheed.

The deliberation through European Union on the resolution would also focus on approaches for releasing opposition leaders jailed wrongfully, to release judicial system from government oppression as well as granting transparency to government and independent entities.

Voting was scheduled to take place on the resolution at 14:00hrs in local time.
