Asphalt was completely laid on three major roads of Haa Dhaal atoll Kulhudhuffushi - the most prominent northern hub. Under the project a total of 18 roads will be applied with asphalt.
Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) initiated project of developing the roads of capital of Haa Dhaal atoll will see the pit ridden streets transformed to favoring standards. The roads that were completed include Fan'diyaaru Magu, Marukazu Magu and Magaan Magu.
While the roads are developed with pavements on either side of the road, currently Kulhudhuffushi Nikagas Magu is under development.
The project commence on August 2017, with the aim of a pre year end completion date.
Initially the project of transforming the roads of Kulhudhuffushi was kick-started during the regime of Mohamed Nasheed - who self exiled himself abroad. Although it initiated back in Nasheed's tenure, the project did not see fruition.
