Police ACP removed from head of department post

In a sudden move the Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdul Mannan Yoosuf - who has been in service at Maldives Police Service for decades - was removed from his held designation.

A trusted source had validated ACP Yoosuf was dismissed from his held responsibility as Commissioner of Police Bureau sometime last week. So far it is uncertain if he had been assigned to a different post or not.

The internal conflict at Maldives Police Service has become intense with Police Commissioner Areef being at difference with second in command Deputy Commissioner of Police Saudhee while President's Office has dispatched a team to resolve the clash.

ACP Yoosuf has been removed from his designation at a time when senior designations of MPS has witnessed a major revamp. Recently disciplinary committee of the institute had taken drastic action against officers with various offenses; while some of the officers were dispatched to various stations in the country, others were axed.
