Security forces initiated silent drill to commemorate the National Day of Maldives will be conducted in some of the northern atoll islands.
The silent drill is slated to take place on November 19, at Haa Alif atoll Utheemu while Baarah of the same atoll will have the MNDF initiated drill the following day. Dhidhoo, the capital of Haa Alif will be graced by the silent drill on November 21 while Haa Dhaal atoll Hanimaadhoo will host the event on November 22.
The drills are set to commence at 17:00hrs at all venues.
Applauded by commoners, the drills showcase military skills and bravado of officers who act out in sequence without commands.
The events will also include moments of silence to remember the martyred national heroes.
