Cooperative Society of Maldives Customs Service (MCS) has announced on Monday for interested parties to construct a total of four 15-story towers at Hulhumale'.
The towers will be constructed at the reclaimed land where the second phase of development in Hulhumale' is ready to commence.
The announcement read to present proposals before December 4 for the construction of 4 mixed-residential towers under the second phase development of Hulhumale'.
Customs announced project falls under government initiated recent project of 'Hiyaa' housing scheme that sees multiple state owned corporations investing in the construction of towers for residential purposes. These residential towers will accommodate employees of government entities as well as personnel of state owned companies.
The project is carried out with the participation of 22 corporations including 2 foreign firms with a total of 62 towers constructed under the scheme.
While Customs has announced the construction of 4 towers, Island Aviation had earlier confirmed the construction of 3 towers at Hulhumale' comprising in a plot of 11,500 square feet.
Similarly State Electric Company (STELCO) had also confirmed the construction of 2 towers at Hulhumale'.
All of these properties are being developed to a 15 story elevation.
Chinese based State Construction and Engineering Corporation (SCEC) will construct 25 towers of 16 story elevations for a project total of MVR 6.6 billion.
