Court hearing cancelled over parliament session clash

Court hearing for the dozen opposition lawmakers scheduled for Wednesday has been cancelled over clashes with instant parliament session slated around the same time.

The initial hearing over the 12 opposition members scheduled at 15:00hrs on Wednesday was cancelled in order to avoid interruption of parliament session.

However, the opposition members had voiced their concern stating they were informed of the quick session at parliament post its commence hour.

The 12 members that includes 9 of the active opposition allied lawmakers as well as 3 of the disqualified lawmakers are tried at court for their alleged obstruction of an officer at duty and for breaking security ranks to gain access into parliament premises on the date of July 24.
