The incumbent Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak is scheduled to visit the Maldives next week.
According to Foreign Ministry of Malaysia Prime Minister Razak will visit Maldives post his visit to neighboring Sri Lanka. Minister Razak who is currently visiting several Asian countries will reach Sri Lanka on Sunday and will stay for a duration of two days before his visit to Maldives.
While the Malaysian Prime Minister is slated to visit Maldives next week, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom along with First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim made a state visit to Malaysia last year and had met with several dignitaries of the country including the Prime Minister.
During his visit to Malaysia President Abdulla Yameen had initiated discussions between the two nations - which is expected to continue when Prime Minister Razak visits Maldives.
