Incumbent president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has departed on Sunday to on an official visit to Noonu, Lhaviyani and Baa atolls.
President's Office confirms the head of state will visit Noonu atoll Maalhendhoo first to officially inaugurate the new mosque and harbor following which he will grace Hen'badhoo of the same atoll to officially kick-off the installation of drainage system in the island. President Yameen is then expected to arrive at Holhudhoo to inaugurate the harbor project of the island and will also reach to Velidhoo to inaugurate its harbor project as well.
After concluding his visit to Noonu atoll, he will be traveling to Lhaviyani atoll Hinnavaru where he will officially inaugurate the safe drinking water plantation.
Post Lhaviyani atoll trip, president Yameen will then reach Baa atoll Kendhoo where he will be initiating the harbor and safe drinking water projects on official grounds. After this, president Yameen will be traveling to Eydhafushi of the same island where he take part in commemorating the conclusion of a successful land reclamation and shoreline protection projects.
President's Office also confirmed that the head of the state will travel to Baa atoll Thulhadhoo to take part in the closing ceremony marking the completion of shoreline protection project in the island.
