Madaveli Police Service stalled after building reclamation

Gaaf Dhaal Madaveli Council has ordered the island's Police Unit to vacate the building under which they facilitate services.

Reports confirm the building ordered by Council on Police Service to vacate is a private property taken on rent by the island's council authority.

Council administration explained their move as an attempt to adjust for the financial setbacks - which had not been given full disclose - however, the council had wished the policing unit at Madaveli will continue their work seeking a different alternative.

Police had commented on the matter state they aim to establish a 'cost sharing basis' by collaborating with island councils in their attempt to expand the services throughout atolls.

The authority had furthermore confirmed that a temporary redundancy will be imposed in Madaveli since both Police Service and Madaveli council were unable to seek a mutually beneficial solution for the situation.
