12 mosques for development in 2018

Islamic Ministry of Maldives has confirmed that 12 new mosques will be developed in 2018.

These new sacred buildings include government funded mosques, Saudi aided projects as well as King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's donation.

Government has planned for the construction of these new mosques at Raa atoll Rasgetheemu and Un'goofaaru, Gaaf Dhaal atoll Devvadhoo, Gahdhoo and Thinadhoo as well as the completion of Islamic Center in Male' along with King Salman's mosque.

While 12 mosque projects have been planned for the current year, 19 mosques were developed and opened officially for public use in 2017.
