A group of 30 kite surfers will embark on a journey to travel from Vilimale' to the guesthouse-famous destination of Maafushi; trekking the waters on their wake-boards with the help of nothing but the kites guiding them.
The event is organized by Maafushi Dive and Watersports, that operates at the famous guesthouse island.
Titled the "Raalhu Gudi - Kite-boarding Challenge" will involve 30 seasoned surfers initiating their journey from Vilimale' at 14:30hrs on coming Friday.
Surfers are challenged to tread through a 25 kilometer distance before they rest up at the shores of Maafushi. The participating challengers will be able to reach the island around late afternoon of the day.
An official who spoke to promote the event stated the aim of organizing such a grand-scale challenge was to boost support and love for the sport.
