Assailants strike student on road

A student was struck by assailants at Lily Magu around 12:55hrs on Wednesday afternoon according to Maldives Police.

Police confirmed that the student was assaulted while he was moving through Lily Magu, which accommodates both Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and Aminiyya School. The student was rushed to ADK hospital for medical treatment.

Maldives Police had not given further details regarding the student's identity. However they disclosed that the student was struck with a sharp implement.

Although the victim's identity has not be revealed it has been understood that the assaulted individual was a Dharumavantha School student.

This marks the second consecutive attack on a school student two days in a row.

On Tuesday afternoon another student fell victim to an assault at Thaajuddin School, when two assailants entered the premises when gates opened for parents to receive students finishing their sessions for the day.
