Health State Minister resigns over govt defiance

The State Minister of Maldives Health Ministry has resigned on Monday, confirming the end of his tenure through popular social media platform Twitter.

"Submitted resignation from all government duties from today," State Minister Hussain Rasheed tweeted. Furthermore his resignation letter detailed the nature of his sudden resignation.

In his letter of resignation, Rasheed said the he is formally stepping down from his held designation to cease working under an administration that has defied the Supreme Court order. "My conscience does not allow me to work under a defiant regime," Rasheed wrote in his letter.

Rasheed who is the State Minister of Health Ministry also holds the responsibility of a board member in National Drug Agency as well as he is the chairman of the governing board of the national fund of narcotics control.
