Authorities on Saturday have released some of the opposition leaders who were arrested amid Friday's protests.
The released political leaders include north-Henveiru MP Abdulla Shahid and Dhihdhoo constituency lawmaker Abdul Latheef Mohamed.
Another leader arrested during Friday's opposition movement included Kin'bidhoo constituency lawmaker Abdulla Riyaz, who was not granted release unlike his 'colleagues.'
Riyaz has been informed by authorities he was arrested under powers vested to police during the state of emergency.
Both Shahid and Latheef were charged with obstructing police duty when they were cuffed amid the protests.
