Housing Ministry has confirmed that it is investigating with assistance of relevant authorities a flat scam.
The ministry on Wednesday said it had received complaints of dubious calls made in their name assuring flats and apartments for advance payments.
In a statement released the ministry said that it had come to their notice of a ponzi-scheme under which individuals have contacted several people guaranteeing them with apartments. The culprits of the scam are also issuing fake building registration to further dupe their victims, which the ministry had managed to gather evidence of.
Housing Ministry has advised to stay vigil over such pretentious calls and refer to the ministry upon such encounters.
Furthermore the ministry had notified that the flats through Housing Ministry would always follow a standard protocol which they would inform to public accordingly before any scheme.
