Maldives Police has stated that shorts believed to have been worn by one out of the two missing teens from Addu had washed up on the city's beach.
The two teenagers from Addu city went missing on Saturday when they were caught in strong sea currents while swimming.
Authorities state that the piece of clothing was worn by Ali Fahmee, 17 when he was last seen swimming at the area. Apart from Fahmee, 14 year old Mayamin Ali was also caught in the strong sea current and is still missing.
Another teenager Ali Raif, 16, who had initially joined the missing duo was rescued by an Addu local when he was alerted to the cries of passing by women near the beach.
While Coast Guard unit of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) is still attempting to search for the missing boys, on Sunday a T-shirt believed to have been worn by one of the boys was discovered from sea.
