Opening statements will be presented on Wednesday at the commencing trial of both lawmakers Ahmed Mahloof and Ilham Ahmed pressed with terrorism charges by state.
Scheduled for Wednesday at Criminal Court MP Ilham Ahmed is pressed with terrorism charges following the February 1 top-court order. He is tried for the act of terrorism and has been held in remand until the conclusion of his trial.
His colleague, MP Ahmed Mahloof is being prosecuted by the state government for attempting an act of terrorism. His charges are associated to MP's involvement in front of Maafushi penitentiary for an opposition-led protest.
Ahmed Mahloof too, was ordered by court to be held in remand until the end of his trial as well.
Another trial hearing of MP Mahloof has been scheduled for Wednesday where the state is pressing charges against him for delivering faux information to a state department related to an event that had not transpired.
