A man died from his injuries after falling from a palm tree in the southernmost Atoll Addu on Monday.
The man now identified as 31 year old Hathim Fauzee from Addu's Hithadhoo island was rushed to the regional hospital in the island before he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
He had reportedly suffered a severe head injury and multiple fractures in the fall. According to some local residents, Fauzee had climbed the tree to pluck coconuts and had fallen into a pile of rocks stacked underneath.
