Pres reappoints Junaid as customs chief

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Tuesday again appointed Mohamed Junaid as the Commissioner General of Customs.

Junaid was first appointed as the customs chief in 2015 but was sacked five months into the post. He was then named as the CEO as the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) before he resigned.

Junaid's predecessor Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed has been appointed as Maldives' new trade representative to Melbourne, Australia.
