Parts of central Laamu atoll have felt tremors which has been brought to Maldives Meteorological Center's notice.
Speaking to Avas Online, a staff employed at Six Senses island resort situated in Laamu atoll said they have felt a tremor a while back which lasted for at least a minute.
Though the tremor lasted for a minute no damages have been reported sustained on any of the islands in the region.
Meteorological Center has since then confirmed they have received reports of tremors experienced by the islands Gan, Kahdhoo and Maandhoo; all in Laamu atoll. The center is currently investigating the nature of the tremors but claimed it was not related to an earthquake.
Similar to Laamu atoll, parts of Lhaviyani atoll had reported similar tremors last month.
