A speedboat traveling from Haa Alif atoll Dhihdhoo to Manafaru of the same atoll struck disaster when it sank amid trip.
Maldives Police Service confirms they were reported of a speedboat sinking amid trip en route Manafaru around 07:45hrs on Saturday morning. Immediately after the distress call police had dispatched a rescue team on incident site.
At the time of the incident the speedboat carried two passengers, but authorities confirm none of them had sustained any physical injuries. Maldives Police had rescued the two onboard the now sunken speedboat and transferred them back to Dhihdhoo.
Furthermore police had also confirmed the speedboat had sunken entirely but they are uncertain as to what may have caused the speedboat to sink.
