Hiya Accomplished registration forms hit 5K+

The latest numbers reveal more than 5,000 registration forms have been issued for Hiya Accomplished housing scheme; the largest ever housing or sheltering initiative by a Maldives government; announced by incumbent president Abdulla Yameeen.

Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu claimed the registration forms have reached 5,222 within a week of announcement. The housing minister also noted that president Abdulla Yameen delivered on his promise, which he has proven with such large scale housing projects.

Dr. Muizzu had praised the Maldives head of state, claiming president Yameen was providing 'total solution' for serious pressing matters faced by Maldives public.

President Abdulla Yameen announced a mega housing projected dubbed 'Hiya Accomplished' with 82,000 flats expected for construction.

The project also consists of reclaiming 230 hectares of land from Gulhifalhu lagoon and another 800 hectares from Fushidhiggaru lagoon. A total of 1,000 hectare of land is expected for reclamation under the 'Hiya Accomplished' project.

Registrants will be subjected to a 3 room apartment or a 1,000 square feet land plot targeted at a population of 300,000.

Conditions for application include individuals without the possession of a land plot or house exceeding 1,000 square feet from any parts of Maldives or should they possess a land they must be willing to relinquish ownership to government.
