Mosque opens in Hulhumale' in memory of First Lady's mother

A mosque has been officially unveiled at the reclaimed suburb, on Monday in memory of First Lady of Maldives Madam Fathimath Ibrahim's mother.

Aishath Moosa, mother of the First Lady passed away in November 2016 aged 80 years.

The mosque built near Rehendhi School at the satellite town was officially opened during Asr prayer by first lady's husband, incumbent President of Maldives Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

The mosque built in memory of the late Aishath Moosa has been named 'Masjid-ul Waali-dain.'

First Lady herself had also performed the Asr prayers during Monday's opening ceremony of the mosque.

Following the prayers, the presidential couple had met with the satellite town residents who gathered to the mosque for prayer.
