Much like their respective presidential candidates the ruling party backed and opposition backed running-mates are intensely campaigning to garner as much support as they can before the election date.
Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) endorsed running mate Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed is currently visiting the islands of Laamu atoll to rally in support for president Abdulla Yameen.
In his campaign trip, Dr. Shaheem visited Laamu atoll Dhan'bidhoo on Sunday morning and headed to Mundoo of the same atoll after concluding the earlier trip.
Meanwhile Dr. Shaheem's opposition counterpart, Faisal Naseem has is currently visiting the island of Shaviyani atoll.
Naseem first graced the island of Kan'ditheemu on Sunday morning and is currently at Goidhoo of the same atoll.
The presidential campaign seems to hit a chord of new 'competitiveness' as both presidential candidates and their respective running-mates are making regular trips across Maldives to muster support for their political causes.
